I have been waiting all day for the RIM to unveil its BlackPad at the BlackBerry Developer Conference and their CEO Mike Lazaridis did unleashed the tablet, but launched it by the name of PlaybookTablet.
Now, here is the funny thing, RIM purchased Blackpad.com on July 26, 2010 which started all the Blackberry Tablet rumors, but nobody noticed that it also purchased PlayBooktablet.com on September 22, 2010 whose whois information is protected. This domain is currently forwarded to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/. Here is the screenshot of the website. Both BlackPad.com as-well-as PlaybookTablet.com show same DNS records.
The PlayBook can handle Flash content via Flash 10.1 and comes with built-in support for the Adobe AIR Apps. It features a 7-inch display, 1024×600 pixel resolution, capacitive, and is powered by an ARM Cortex A9-based processor which is dual-core in nature. There are two cameras on the tablet – one in the front (3MP) and another at the back (5MP). It has full support for 1080p HD video playback and sports an HDMI port as well. It is only 0.4-inches thick and weighs mere 0.4kg.
