Many say that guys Kogan are great when it comes to Linux and they have released some Linux netbooks. This netbook comes in two models – Standard and Pro. The standard comes with 1GB of RAM and 250GB of hard disk drive while the Pro model doubles those figures (2GB RAM, 500GB hard disk). It also promises to ‘blow away Intel Atom netbooks with its Celeron SU2300 ULV processor that runs at 1.2GHz clock speed.


This processor has a relatively low TDP of 10W. Graphics are handled by the integrated Intel GS40 chipset with its 256MB shared memory. Other specs include 11.6 inch display, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 1.3 mega pixel webcam, Bluetooth, 802.11n Wi-Fi, card reader, VGA port, HDMI port and microphone jack. Weighing in at just 1.52 kilo grams, it comes with a small 4-cell battery and that may result in shorter-than-expected battery runtimes. Both models run pre-release versions of Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal). Nevertheless, it is great to a Linux netbook in the market which is brimming with Windows 7 Starter OS netbooks.
